Frequently Asked Questions

& Terms of Service

For Commercial Services

How much does it cost to hire a pooper scooper?

We quote commercial services based on which services we will be providing (Common Area Cleaning, Pet Waste Station Installation, Pet Waste Station Maintenance), the square footage of the common areas to be cleaned, the number and type of pet stations to be installed and serviced and the service frequency.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No contracts, ever. You can start, pause, or cancel your service anytime through your customer portal or by giving us a call. We just ask for 48 hours’ notice for cancellations so we can let our team know to plan accordingly. If you pause service for more than 30 days, a first-time cleanup fee may apply when you restart.

Do you bill monthly or per visit?

We bill monthly for recurring service, which is based on a 52-week calendar and averaged over 12 months. This keeps your monthly bill consistent, even during months with five weeks. One-time cleanups are billed separately.

What service options do you offer?

  • Weekly, twice weekly or bi-weekly services

  • Common Area Cleaning

  • Pet Waste Station Installation

  • Pet Waste Station Maintenance

What areas do you serve?

We serve residential and commercial properties throughout San Diego County. Currently, most of our clients are between Escondido to the North, Mira Mesa to the South, Poway to the East and the 5 Freeway to the West.

Do you offer year-round service?

Yes! We provide services year-round, no matter the weather, as long as it's safe to do provide service and as long as your grounds are not so muddy, that providing service would damage your landscaping.

Do you clean the entire property?

We will clean all areas that you have contracted us to clean. Because of the size of most commercial properties, it is not possible for us to cover areas outside the scope of the agreement. If, however, you find that there are problem areas that you would like us to add to the agreement, we are happy to do so.

How do I pay for your services?

All of our residential clients (and some of our commercial clients) simply provide a card for us to keep on file and run each month. Many of our commercial clients, however, prefer to remit a check each month. We can make arrangements for either billing method for you. All commercial invoices are net 15 terms and late fees are applied in the event of late payments.

Can I request a specific service day or time window for arrival?

To keep costs low and routes efficient, we have set days for each neighborhood that we service and will provide service on the same day each week, when we also service your neighbors.

Our techs typically service 25-30 homes and/or businesses, per day, and their routes are auto-scheduled for them each morning to minimize their travel time.

So, while the service times tend to be very similar each week, the times will vary.

What happens if you need to skip our property on my normal service day?

Skipped visits are rare, but do happen.

Reasons for a skipped visit may include things like a Holiday or unsafe weather conditions.

Under these conditions, we will simply provide service on the next business day.

What is your Holiday schedule?

We do not provide service on the following Holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, SoCal Pooper Scoopers is a licensed pooper scooper business and is fully insured for your peace of mind. In the rare event of damage or incident, you’re protected.

Do you disinfect your equipment?

Absolutely. We sanitize all tools and shoes after each yard using pet-safe, kennel-grade disinfectants to prevent germs and cross-contamination.

How is the waste disposed of?

We double-bag and place waste in your dumpsters unless otherwise requested.

Do you clean up dog waste from decks, patios, sidewalks, rocks or pebbled areas?

Yes, but these areas require extra time and care, so additional fees may apply.

How do you handle leaves, debris and tall grass?

As you might imagine, it can be very difficult to find dog poop in tall grass or in a common area full of leaves or other debris. Since we do not offer yard maintenance, leaf blowing or debris pickup, there may be some poop that we simply can't see, so may miss. We will be back on our next scheduled visit and will get anything that was missed if yard maintenance is complete.

If you find an excessive amount that we missed, please let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best to accommodate a return visit.

What if I’m not satisfied with a visit?

We aim for 100% satisfaction. If anything was missed, let us know within 24 hours and we’ll make it right.
